It is desirable sometimes that during initial site building, national content managers to block public access until the site has a form fit for public. This is achieved by adding a global password authentication to the website. Only visitors with credentials knowledge can access the website. When visiting the website, credentials are asked for every page.
To achieve this, following these steps:
- Log in into your website
- Visit the configuration screen at
/admin/config/system/shield - Set
usernameandpasswordfields and press Save configuration button
